Starting with the exterior, the obvious star is the Eos’ hardtop, which Volkswagen says will lower in only 25 seconds and also comes with a standard power sunroof as well. So whether you want a lot of sun, or a little sun, the Eos has you covered. Exterior changes for 2012 are subtle, but make the Eos look more aggressive and leaner instead of rounded.
Under the hood, you still get the 200-horsepower, turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder. The six-speed manual transmissions have been dropped for this year, so all versions of the 2012 Eos now come with a six-speed dual-clutch automatic.
When it comes to fuel economy, you can expect the Eos to get around 22 mpg/city and 29 mpg/highway on premium fuel.
On the inside, the new model year brings a revised control scheme and a few new features including HD-radio and keyless push-button start. The Eos interior is classic in nature and has a lot of high quality materials onboard. Up to four passengers will enjoy a long list of standard features which include Bluetooth® and iPod connectivity, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and a three-spoke leather wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters. Also standard is a power easy entry system, which slides the front seats forward at the touch of a button to allow easier access to the rear seats. Additional options on the Eos include a navigations system, leather seating, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.
The 2012 Eos also includes front and side-impact airbags, antilock brakes, and an electronic stability system. In case of a rollover accident, steel beams deploy behind the second row of seats to keep occupants safe. An intelligent crash response system also unlocks the doors, shuts down the fuel pump, and activates the hazard lights if an accident occurs.
The 2012 Volkswagen Eos convertible offers luxury and a top down experience at a non-luxury price. If you’re looking for a car to cruise around in, the Eos should be on your short list.

"...This was my first time buying a new car, and I really didn't know where to start. I used your site to get quotes from dealers near me and compared them to the Market Price. Then, I used the knowledge I got from reading your Secrets book to make sure I didn't pay more than I should. It was so easy! I love my new car!" -Sonya S. |
