The 2012 Hyundai Genesis Coupe enters its third year of production and continues to compete with the likes of the Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Camaro, and Nissan 370Z. A six-speed manual transmission is standard, but both engines can be mated to an optional electronic automatic transmission with paddle shifters. Higher trims will benefit from performance parts like a limited-slip differential, a Brembo® braking system, and bigger tires.

The two engines both offer plenty of performance. Opting for the more powerful V-6 will offer you better acceleration and top end speed, but it does drag down fuel efficiency. Fuel ratings range from 17-21 mpg in the city to 26-30 mpg on the highway, the larger figures coming with the four-cylinder engine.

You’ll find that the Genesis Coupe’s profile hasn’t changed much from the previous year. Exterior features include dual chrome exhaust tips, projector headlights, and power adjustable side mirrors. Upgrading to the Track trim of the Genesis Coupe gets you HID Xenon headlights, 19-inch summer tires, a body-colored rear spoiler, and proximity key with push-button start. Other options include front fog lights, a sunroof, and back-up warning sensors.

Even though it was bred with sport in mind, the 2012 Genesis Coupe still comes well-appointed on the inside, with air conditioning, power windows, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, Bluetooth®, and remote keyless entry all coming standard. Upgrading to higher trims will get you even more options like a navigation system, black leather seats with red inserts, wheel-mounted cruise control buttons, a multi-gauge cluster, and aluminum foot pedals.

The Genesis Coupe features six standard airbags, traction control, stability control, and brake assist as standard safety equipment. Active head restraints limit whiplash in case you are rear-ended also come on every Genesis Coupe.
