For the new model year, there aren’t any sweeping changes to the Fit but a few notable improvements have been made. The Fit’s interior gains new cupholders and more sound-proofing for a quieter ride, while Sport models get even more aggressive styling inside and out.
Under the hood is the familiar 117-horsepower, 1.5-liter four-cylinder which takes regular fuel and is mated to a standard five-speed manual or an optional five-speed automatic. The Fit’s fuel economy numbers lag behind a few other cars in this class, like the Hyundai Accent, Kia Rio, and Ford Fiesta, but are still respectable topping out at 28 mpg in the city and 35 mpg on the highway with the manual transmission.
Where the Fit really excels is inside, offering over 20 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row, which expands to 57.3 cubic feet with the 60/40 split rear seat folded. This gives the Fit more cargo space than even the Accord and other comparable sedans. Standard features on the Fit include air conditioning, a tilt/telescoping steering wheel, cruise control, and a USB/auxiliary input jacks. If you’re looking to spruce up the Fit even more, a navigation system with Bluetooth® connectivity and a leather wrapped steering wheel are optional.
Even though the 2012 Fit is on the smaller side of cars on the road, you can feel confident in its safety features, it is after all an IIHS Top Safety Pick. Antilock brakes, six airbags, and an electronic stability system with traction control all come standard.
The 2012 Honda Fit might be small on the outside, but its big where it counts with great style, plenty of utility, and a price tag that won't break the bank.

"...This was my first time buying a new car, and I really didn't know where to start. I used your site to get quotes from dealers near me and compared them to the Market Price. Then, I used the knowledge I got from reading your Secrets book to make sure I didn't pay more than I should. It was so easy! I love my new car!" -Sonya S. |
